Camille grew up spending summers in the Lake District. She moved to Georgia, met Danny, and when it came to choosing where to marry, there was never really a question. Blencowe Hall felt like the only place.
A Blencowe Hall wedding sits in a particular kind of English landscape. The estate is ancient and unhurried, surrounded by fells and water and the kind of quiet that only feels natural if it's somewhere you already belong. For Camille, returning here was less a choice of venue and more a return to something she'd carried with her.
The ceremony took place outside, set against old stone, the fells soft in the background. Afterwards, guests moved through the grounds as the afternoon opened up around them. Later in the day, Camille and Danny slipped away to the lake. They climbed out onto an old jetty as mist moved across the water and the hills dissolved behind it. It was one of those moments that doesn't need arranging.
As the light went, the celebration moved through the smaller rooms of the estate before finding its way to the village pub nearby. There was dancing. There was laughter. It went on late.
Weddings at Blencowe Hall tend to have this quality: they're shaped by the place as much as the people. The landscape does something to the day. It makes everything feel settled, earned, real. That's what I try to photograph.
