Miranda and Alec flew in from Texas with their closest family and friends, and chose Château Canet - a working vineyard estate in the Languedoc countryside - as the place to get married. It is exactly the kind of choice that tells you something about a couple. Not Paris, not the Riviera. The quieter, more genuine South of France, where the landscape is unhurried and the light in summer lasts until you almost forget it's supposed to end.
Château Canet sits among its own vines, and the estate has the ease of a place that has been producing wine for generations. For a wedding it offers something that more formal venues don't - a sense that the celebration belongs to the landscape rather than being imposed on it. Miranda and Alec's ceremony took place outdoors among the vines, which felt entirely right.
What followed was the kind of afternoon and evening that a Château Canet wedding does particularly well. Long golden hours in the gardens, guests drifting between conversation and the next glass of something local, quiet moments on the vineyard paths between the louder, fuller stretches of celebration. The courtyard carried laughter late into the night, and the vineyards beyond just absorbed it all.
As a destination wedding photographer, I find the Languedoc endlessly generous. The light here is softer and warmer than elsewhere in France, the pace slower, and venues like Château Canet give you the kind of unhurried access that makes real photography possible. Miranda and Alec's day was joyful, relaxed, and completely themselves - two people from Texas, entirely at home in the South of France.

Château Canet Wedding Photographer
I'm Leah, a British editorial wedding photographer working internationally. The south of France has a particular quality of light - long, warm, unhurried - and Château Canet makes full use of it. I've photographed weddings here and the vineyard setting never fails to deliver.
