LA BARONIA WEDDING

La Baronia

La Baronia sits in the Catalan countryside just outside Barcelona, in a modernist house designed by Joan Rubio i Bellver - one of Antoni Gaudí's closest disciples. The architecture has that quality of considered craft that Gaudí's circle brought to everything they touched, and combined with the privacy of the estate and the quiet landscape surrounding it, the venue feels genuinely unlike anywhere else near the city.

It works particularly well as a wedding venue because it offers so much without announcing it. The interiors are warm and full of character. The kitchen takes Catalan cooking seriously - market produce, traditional technique, enough originality to make the food a genuine part of the day rather than an afterthought. And the grounds give you the privacy to let a celebration unfold at its own pace, with Barcelona close enough to matter and far enough away to forget.

Kayleigh and Sebastian's La Baronia wedding had exactly that quality. The day was relaxed and full, shaped by good food, the particular beauty of the Catalan countryside, and a venue that knows how to hold a celebration without getting in the way of one.
