There are parts of London that feel like they were made for love stories, and Notting Hill is one of them. Coloured terraces, ivy-draped pubs, quiet mews streets with the faint sound of jazz drifting out of an open window. It is the kind of neighbourhood that holds its stories lightly, and it made the perfect backdrop for Pia and Joseph's engagement shoot.

We spent the afternoon wandering the streets they call home. No itinerary, no forcing it. Just the two of them, the warm July light, and enough champagne in our future to keep the afternoon feeling effortless. That quality of ease is what I am always looking for on a pre-wedding shoot. When a couple is this comfortable together, the camera barely has to try.

From Notting Hill we made our way into Hyde Park as the afternoon softened into golden hour. Shoes came off somewhere near the Serpentine. The champagne appeared. There was laughter, and a little dancing, and that particular kind of light that only exists in London for about four weeks a year. We made the most of every second of it.

A Notting Hill engagement shoot is one of my favourite ways to spend a summer afternoon. The neighbourhood offers so much: texture, colour, intimacy, and the sort of effortless backdrop that disappears behind the people in front of it. Hyde Park gives you the opposite, open and golden and expansive. Together, they made for a set of images that feel completely like Pia and Joseph.

This was never just a practice run for Barbados. It was a chapter in its own right. Thank you for letting me document it.
