Gabrielle and Peter chose Barbados for the kind of wedding that asks something of its guests in the best possible way: pack a bag, board a flight, and give us a few days by the sea. Those who said yes were rewarded with one of the most joyful celebrations I've had the privilege of photographing.
The day began at a beautiful white-washed church overlooking the water, where light poured through tall windows as they exchanged their vows. There was a stillness to the ceremony that felt genuinely earned, the kind that comes when a room is full of people who actually know and love each other.
From the church, everyone made their way to QP Bistro for the wedding reception. Perched above the ocean on Barbados's west coast, QP Bistro is one of those venues that doesn't need to try very hard. The setting does most of the work: open air, sea views, warm evening light, and a terrace that feels made for long dinners and longer conversations. As a backdrop for a wedding, it's quietly exceptional.
Dinner was unhurried. Speeches were heartfelt. By the time dancing started, the formality of the day had long dissolved and what remained was just the celebration. The light faded slowly over the ocean. The music carried across the terrace. Nobody seemed in any particular hurry to call it a night. A QP Bistro Barbados wedding is a genuinely special thing to witness, and Gabrielle and Peter's is one I'll carry with me for a long time.

I'm Leah, a British editorial wedding photographer working internationally. The Caribbean is a different kind of assignment - the light harder, the colour more saturated. I've photographed weddings at QP Bistro and that clifftop setting on the west coast never disappoints.
