Somerley House sits in the New Forest with the kind of quiet confidence that needs no introduction. Grand without fuss. Its grounds hold light in a particular way, especially as the afternoon shifts, and for a wedding day with as much warmth and movement as Tanya and Tarek's, that setting was everything.
Tanya and Tarek's families brought Lebanese and Palestinian traditions together in a celebration that felt genuinely alive. There was live music, dancing that went on long after it was supposed to, and moments of pure, uncomplicated joy that I could have photographed for days. The cultural richness of the day wasn't decoration. It was the whole story, woven through every part of the celebration from the first moments of the morning to the last song of the night.
What I find with Somerley House weddings is that the estate gives you so much to work with, and then mostly gets out of the way. The walled gardens, the parkland, the interiors that move between grandeur and intimacy depending on where you stand. I'm not trying to fight the architecture for the couple's attention. It holds everything together without dominating it, which means the people in front of my lens stay the point.
Guests stayed on the estate overnight, which means the day had that rare, unhurried quality. No one was watching the clock. The celebrations stretched naturally, and with that came something I always hope for: the unguarded moments. The ones that only happen when people stop performing and start simply being together.
It's a privilege to photograph a wedding like this. Two families, two cultures, one extraordinary estate, and a couple completely certain of each other. That combination doesn't come around often, and when it does, the photographs tend to speak for themselves.

Kind words from Tanya & Tarek...
There is nothing more to add to Leah's other reviews other than that she is a truly magical person who can do magical things with photography!
If you're thinking about who to book for your wedding or special occasion, do not hesitate to book Leah!! Not only is she fantastically talented at what she does, but she is also a lovely person and a dream to be around. It is evident that she loves what she does, and this really comes through, not only in her work, but also in the build-up to the event and afterwards.
We can't thank Leah enough for how beautiful our wedding photos have come out.
