Winchester College sits in the heart of one of England's most historic cities - medieval stonework, cloistered walkways, walled gardens, and that particular quality of light that only Hampshire in August can produce. This is what I love about photographing weddings in the UK. Places like this do the work themselves. You don't direct people toward the drama; the surroundings provide it.
There's a reason so many couples choose to marry here. The UK has a depth of setting that's almost unrivalled - medieval colleges, coastal headlands, city townhouses, country estates - and a quality of light that rewards patience. Overcast skies diffuse beautifully for a UK wedding photographer. Late summer evenings last. Even the rain has its own atmosphere.
